USA 2016 - Day 9

Day 9 was another moving day. We checked out of Vdara just before 11 am and caught a taxi to the airport. Once again, we arrived early, prepared for long lines at security. But because we were flying First Class (!) we were again given TSA pre-check status and went though in no time. Thinking we had plenty of time to spare, we wandered around the airport before sitting down for lunch at a cafe near our gate. However, as we tucked into our food we heard an announcement telling us the gate had been moved - to a seperate terminal! We quickly finished our meals and eventually found our way to the new gate, which involved a ride on a people-mover and quite a bit of walking.

We arrived at our hotel in San Francisco late in the afternoon. The weather was perfect - fine but not too hot and not a hint of the fog that the city is famous for. After a bit of a walk to get our bearings, we headed out to a nearby trattoria called Barbacco for dinner. At first I was a little anxious as it was very crowded and noisy inside, but I calmed down after a few sips of wine and we ended having a wonderful time.
