The next morning I was up before dawn to take some photos of the canyon in the morning light. Later, Keiko and I went for a walk together along the canyon rim. We had enjoyed dinner and breakfast at El Tovar so much we went back there for lunch, and were not disappointed. In the afternoon we walked along the rim in the opposite direction as far as the starting point of the Bright Angel Trail, which leads down to the bottom of the canyon. We walked the trail for a hundred meters or so, but the heat and my fear of heights prevented us going any further. Late in the afternoon we boarded a bus (a different one from the day before with a different driver) for the trip back to Vegas. We loved the Grand Canyon, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Tovar. After the fakery of Vegas, everything felt so incredibly real.

A local lizard. I don't have a zoom lens, so I was amazed that I was able to get this close.
