After a full day at sea it was back to Italy. But after the splendour of Milan and Venice, Palermo in Sicily came as a bit of a shock. The Cappella Palatina (shown in the first two photos below) was beautiful, but the city overall was drab and rundown. The weather - cloudy and drizzly - didn't help. We spent the morning at the Norman Palace (which houses the Cappella Palatina) and the cathedral then caught the hop-on hop-off bus back to the docks and spent the rest of the day on the ship.
